Sophie Coote (she/her) is an emerging independent producer.
Sophie, from Dublin Ireland, works across theatre, dance and theatre for young audiences. She is currently the line producer and schools liaison for Ready Steady SHOW!, The Civic Theatre’s programme for young people. She is producing Spear by CN Smith, premiering at Dublin Fringe as part of WEFT, and WINDOW A WORLD by Choy-Ping Clarke-Ng at Dublin Theatre Festival.
Sophie was touring producer for Irish based dance company, Instant Dissidence, Perform Europe funded project SlowMo – an eco-conscious dance tour of Europe via land and sea, in Summer 2022.
She is a 2020 graduate of Drama and Theatre Studies in Trinity College Dublin.
Spear
Three old friends meet in an abandoned athletics field to drink into the early morning. Many years have passed. Between them, the diary of an old friend, now an Olympic gold medallist. Who have they become, since they last spoke? What remains of those boys? If one is world champion, what does that make the rest of them? Spear is a Dublin Fringe Festival commission. Also supported by Smock Alley Theatre and the Rachel Baptiste Programme 2021, with additional support from field:arts and South Dublin County Council.
